A fascinating box of 20 glass slides which appear to study various parasitic insects. The slides include Xenopsylla cheopis, the rat flea, a parasite of rodents which is a primary vector for bubonic plague and murine typhus. There is a slide that shows the number of plague deaths in India between 1896 & 1910. Ctenecephalus felis (Cat Flea) and the larvae of pulex irritans (Human flea) plus various others.
