Description
An Early English Ravenscroft barrister’s wig of woven horse hair in original tole box with lock and key, circa 1870-1890. A superb barrister’s wig with accompanying riser, in a fitted black tole box with gold accents and brass swan handle, the exterior is marked ‘F.W. Henwood Esq.’, the interior marked “Ravenscroft Law, Wig & Robe Makers, Lincolns Inn, London”. Also included is a Barristers Robe with and wooden gavel. The robe has some wear with the odd small hole here and there towards the hem but in overall good condition. Ede & Ravenscroft have been the tailors and robe makers of choice for twelve coronations. Who knows what court room dramas this wig has seen.
